I don’t know about you, but back-to-school shopping drives me batty. Especially with school districts so strapped for cash these days. I don’t remember having to bring my own erasers and dry-erase markers when I was little (OK, I guess it would have been chalk back in those dark ages!) – but this is standard practice now for my girls’ elementary school. Often I wish I could just get it all done in one stop and have it behind me.

Well, this year, I’m in luck: there’s a new Target in our area! (Yaaay!) And if you’re as much of a Target fan as I am, then you’re going to want to read to the end of this post, because I have a special opportunity just for you! (Here’s a big hint:)

There’s a new one stop shop in town…

Targets are known for their beautiful layouts and displays, but I have to say, this is by far the most GORGEOUS Target I’ve ever been in. I kid you not, the wheels glide over the poured concrete floor in a way that is downright sensual.

So gorgeous. So incredibly beautiful, from the signage to the displays.

It was hard not to get distracted by all the fun things that were NOT on my list. Like these incredible plastic bins in the special section at the front of the store.

I need some new bins for the girls’ homework supplies at their new homework desk, but I told myself I’ll have to come back later this week, once I’ve measured the space at home, so I get the best fit!

So many cute choices, so little time…

Of course, the school supplies were in the back corner of the store, so I had to pass by all the adorable back-to-school clothes on my way there. I haven’t switched out the girls’ drawers to fall yet, but I know there will be lots of cute things here to fill the holes in their wardrobes once the weather turns cooler.

I was out shopping while the girls were in gymnastics camp for the week. Kimmie especially has been growing like a weed this summer, and she’s down to only one leotard that fits her well. It was all I could do NOT to buy out the activewear section on my way by.

Stay focused, Mama!

Hard though it was to stay focused for the half-hour window I had to knock off the girls’ school supply lists, I finally made my way to the supply section.

It seriously took maybe 5 minutes to load everything on their lists into my cart. Talk about one stop shopping! It couldn’t have been easier. They had lots of options on sizes, too – everything from 2-packs of glue sticks, up to a dozen! (Between school and home, you’d better believe I grabbed the 12-pack!)

And the prices couldn’t be beat! Especially on those items where our school district insists on getting only a certain brand name. As you can see, there are quite a few of those on our list; the teachers insist. But Target had plenty of them all in stock.

The girls already have their beloved backpacks that my mother got for them, but the backpack selection right next to the supplies on their lists was impressive. Tons of designs and styles for both boys and girls, all at very reasonable prices!
